LONDON (AP) — Former "Top Gear" presenter Jeremy Clarkson says doctors told him he probably had cancer just days before a fracas in which he attacked a colleague from the popular motoring show. Writing in his column for the Sunday Times, Clarkson described his state of mind in the days before the March 4 scuffle, saying that even the suspected — and ultimately false — diagnosis failed to stem his "obsession" with work. The BBC refrained from renewing the popular presenter's contract after concluding that Clarkson hit producer Oisin Tymon and subjected him to a 30-minute tirade while they were filming on location.
