Taxi TV could be phasing out of New York City cabs.
New York City's Taxi and Limousine Commission "regularly receives complaints from passengers and drivers about the Taxi TV,” according to a proposal on Monday to replace the TVs.
The system, first installed in the back of the city's cabs in 2006, provides passengers with information about events in the city, custom content from local talk shows, a map of the taxi's route as well as commercials — lots of commercials.
