Shanghai (AFP) - China's benchmark Shanghai stock index slumped 4.09 percent at the open on Tuesday, despite a renewed government vow to support the market following the biggest fall in eight years a day earlier. San Francisco (AFP) - Cyber security firm Zimperium has warned of a flaw in the world's most popular smartphone Android operating system that lets hackers take control with a text message."Attackers only need your mobile number, using which they can remotely execute code via a specially crafted media file delivered via MMS (text message)," Zimperium Mobile Security said in a blog post."A fully weaponized successful attack could even delete the message before you see it.
Many headlines over the weekend were dedicated to a CNN/ORC poll showing Donald Trump leading the Republican pack in the race for the GOP presidential nomination and Hillary Clinton maintaining real but shrinking leads against all of the top Republican contenders. One detail, however, got less attention than it perhaps deserved.
Having been hammered yesterday, Chinese stocks have opened Tuesday’s session significantly lower. The benchmark Shanghai Composite index, fresh from falling 8.48% yesterday, has lost an additional 3.74%. In the space of just two and a bit sessions the index has now suffered a loss in excess of 10%, marking a technical correction.
