WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) — Three of the five officers fired by the Bald Head Department of Public Safety say they were treated unfairly for what were supposed to be private text messages. Termination letters say all five were fired for inappropriate electronic communications, while four of the officers were also accused of sexual harassment. "The work environment has consisted of inadequate communication, what appears to be dishonesty, and a lack of confidence in operations and leadership," Conner said in a written statement.
