The First Reviews Of The Dark Knight Rises Have Risen And The Verdict Is...

Considering how slowly he produces his feature films, a new movie from Spike Jonze is always a special occasion and it looks like we're going to get one this year as his enigmatic movie Her has now been given a limited release in New York, Los Angeles and Toronto on November 20 through Warner Bros. Pictures. Also CBS Films have finally dated the long-delayed remake of Gambit , starring Colin Firth and Cameron Diaz, which was adapted by Joel and Ethan Coen, and that will be released on October 11.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Next week we here at AICN will be hosting a screening of THE KINGS OF SUMMER with director Jordan Vogt-Roberts on hand to talk about the flick afterwards. You may remember hearing about how awesome this movie was out of Sundance and I can confirm that it is indeed super awesome. While the focus of the film is on the three young leads as they escape from their oppresive families and build a house out in the woods, Vogt-Roberts populates the supporting characters with amazing comedic talent, like Nick Offerman and his real life wife Megan Mullally, Alison Brie, Mary Lynn Rajskub and Kumail Nanjiani. He strikes a real balance of heart and humor that has been sorely lacking since the glory days of John Hughes. The grand finale to the not always grand The Hangover trilogy is a sometimes sweet, occasionally dark affair that seems to aspire to more than being just another comedy sequel. Smartly avoiding the blackout gimmick of the previous two films, Part III frequently mashes up genres and tone while also providing enough of the R-rated humor that made the series such a success when it launched four years ago. After the disappointing second film in the franchise, this entry is something of a return to form for director Todd Phillips and his stars Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, and Zach Galifianakis. While there's no wedding (well, more or less) and no lost night this time around, The Hangover Part III is still essentially a twisty-turny story that sees the Wolfpack going from set piece to set piece, unlocking the many mysteries therein.
