Matheu Nelson’s sacrifice fly capped a two-run rally in the bottom of the seventh inning as No. 11 Florida State rallied for a 6-5 baseball victory over the University of Maine to complete a sweep of Saturday’s doubleheader at Mike Martin Field in Dick Howser Stadium in Tallahassee, Florida. Florida State, which won the opener 16-3, is now 3-0 while the Black Bears fell to 0-3. In the nightcap, freshman Jake Roper’s grand slam in a five-run fourth-inning rally erased a 2-0 deficit and gave the Black Bears a 5-2 lead in the seven-inning affair. The Seminoles scored single runs in the fourth and sixth innings to pull within one and Matt Geoffrion came on to pitch the seventh.
