A federal judge on Friday set jury selection and trial for former Savannah-Chatham police chief Willie Lovett for Nov. 17 on public corruption charges stemming from a commercial gambling scheme. Lovett. 66, has pleaded not guilty to charges that he protected an ongoing gambling game from law enforcement and made false statements to FBI agents during a subsequent investigation.
