French Open Prize Money Goes Up To $34.5m

PARIS (AP) — Prize money at the French Open will rise to more than 25 million euros ($34.5 million) this year, an increase of 3 million euros ($4.1 million) from last year. The men's and women's champions will receive 1.65 million euros each, 150,000 euros more than 2013, and losing finalists will receive 825,000 euros, a raise of 75,000 euros. Tournament director and French Tennis Federation director Gilbert Ysern says "this notable increase in Roland Garros prize money is part of the plan that was put in place for 2013 until 2016.Read more on NewsOK.com
