With the prospect of $10 million going back into the general fund June 30, the council has deferred action pending resolution of a lawsuit. In the meantime, the mayor has promised to double the funding. When Mayor Eric Garcetti unveiled his first budget this week, he proudly announced that he was doubling funding to fix broken sidewalks from $10 million to $20 million.
