Variety is reporting that New Line Cinema has hired Garry Marshall ( Pretty Woman , The Princess Diaries ) to direct Valentine's Day , a comedy about 10 people in Los Angeles whose lives intersect on the romantic holiday. Based on a screenplay by Katherine Fugat and rewritten by Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein, writers of this Friday's new romantic comedy He's Just Not That Into You , the film is being fasttracked with hopes for a release on Valentine's Day 2010.
