Google is celebrating the 605th anniversary of one of the oldest working time-telling devices of its kind, the Prague Astronomical Clock, with a special Doodle depiction. Located in the capital of the Czech Republic, Prague, the clock, known as the Orloj, attracts tourists to the city’s Old Town Square year-round. It’s not just its age that makes the timepiece interesting, though — its hourly show, including 12 apostles emerging to nod at their audience below, tends to draw quite a crowd, the Telegraph reports. Google has good cause for celebration — the centuries-old masterpiece was almost destroyed by the Nazis during World War II and had to undergo extensive repairs in 1948. The Doodle will show up on Google’s homepage in much of Europe, including the Czech Republic, as well as Australia, the west of Latin America and parts of East Asia and Africa.
