Gov. Hickenlooper To Pardon Nearly 2 Dozen People Convicted Of Crimes In Colorado

Gov. John Hickenlooper will announce Monday that he is pardoning nearly two dozen people convicted of crimes in Colorado. The Democrat told The Denver Post in an interview that his office reviewed some of the files for years. Hickenlooper said his criteria for the pardons was twofold: “These are people who really have A) turned their lives around and B) that there is some benefit to the pardons.” A pardon is considered a public forgiveness of a crime, and it is granted to convicted people who served their sentence.
