Gymnast Tweddle injured training for winters sports TV show

LONDON (AP) — Beth Tweddle, a former Olympic bronze medalist in gymnastics, is recovering in an Austrian hospital after undergoing neck surgery following a fall while training for a winter sports reality television show. The three-time world gymnastics champion crashed into a barrier Saturday while preparing for "The Jump," a show on Britain's Channel 4 where celebrities and sports stars attempt acrobatic winter sports feats. Tweddle's parents, Ann and Jerry Tweddle, wrote on their daughter's website that surgeons "took a piece of bone from her hip and used it to fuse the two vertebrae that were fractured, along with pinning them together.Read more on NewsOK.com
