Harry Potter 5-8 Director Back For Fantastic Beasts

The expansion of the Harry Potter universe into a new film series will begin with someone very familiar to Potter fans - director David Yates. Variety is reporting that Yates, who directed the fifth through eighth films in the Potter series -- The Order of the Phoenix, The Half-Blood Prince and The Deathly Hallows Part 1 and Part 2 -- will be returning to direct Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them. According to Variety, the deal is not finalized, but Yates has agreed to direct the film and is in negotiations with Warner Bros.
