Iowa-based hotel company Hawkeye Hotels has moved into a new home in Coralville. The company cut the ribbon on its newly constructed 21,000-square-foot building there last week. The celebration marked the move of Hawkeye Hotels’ headquarters from Burlington to Coralville.“The relocation of our headquarters to Coralville not only supports our business strategy but also deepens our roots in this community that we love,” Chief Development Officer Raj Patel said in a statement.Coupled with the Burlington office, which will stay open, the company said the Coralville headquarters will “double its capacity.” About 30 employees will work from Coralville, focused on operations, sales, human resources, and construction and development work.Hawkeye previously had an Iowa City office, but work there has been moved to Coralville.Started in 1982 with one hotel in Arkansas, Hawkeye now employs more than 1,000 people at its more than 50 hotels.
