A Hedwig Village police officer shot and killed a man who had fired at him after a chase, officials said, the first deadly shooting by an officer from the Houston enclave in nearly 20 years. A patrol officer tried to stop a car about 11:30 p.m. Monday when the driver made an illegal right turn in the 900 block of the Katy Freeway frontage road near Campbell, Police Chief David Gott said. The driver pulled to the side of the road on Campbell near Gaylord and a passenger jumped out and ran.
