Gov. Gary Herbert on Wednesday vetoed five bills from the recent legislative session, including a bill to designate part of Veterans Memorial Highway ­— Interstate 15 — in honor of the late former House Speaker Becky Lockhart. Some veterans had called for the veto, saying such a co-designation would diminish the recognition of veterans and their sacrifices.
