IOWA CITY — One day after Iowa’s COVID-19 hospitalizations surpassed 500 for the first time by increasing 21 over a 24-hour period, Iowa set a new record Wednesday of 534 hospitalizations after an even higher one-day jump of 33. The state also reported a new record high 32 deaths in 24 hours, topping the previous high of 25 on May 22, with deaths spanning 20 counties -- including Linn.
