Judge Considers Receivership For Control Of Troubled First National Center

BY STEVE LACKMEYERAND BRIANNA BAILEY Business WritersU.S. District Judge Stephen Friot, citing concerns over deteriorating conditions at First National Center, is considering appointing a receiver to take control of the landmark as a way to restore air conditioning and prevent shut-offs of other utilities. Ownership of the property is in dispute, with California textile manufacturer Leon Neman and his family claiming they bought it two years ago, while litigants argue Neman is a front for convicted felon Aaron Yashouafar, who they claim still controls the building under a management agreement with Neman. The Nemans' attorneys came to court Tuesday to ask for assurances they will be repaid for utility bills and maintenance on the building once it is sold, but Friot instead ordered a hearing for 8 a.m.Read more on NewsOK.com
