The man convicted of killing Dorchester toddler Bella Bond will have to wait 20 years before he can petition for parole, a judge ruled today.Michael P. McCarthy was sentenced to a mandatory life sentence today after being convicted of second degree murder on Monday. The standard period of eligibility for second-degree murder is 15 years.
