KUSA and KTVD, channels 9 and 20, are not available to DirecTV customers. The absence means that local newscasts, NBC programming, including NFL Sunday Night Football, “The Voice” and “Chicago P.D.,” are not available to subscribers of the satellite service. DirecTV is a subsidiary of AT&T. The two local television stations are owned by TEGNA, a publicly traded broadcast, digital media and marketing services company. “Unfortunately, DIRECTV has refused to reach a fair, market-based agreement with us, which is why our station is not currently available on DIRECTV,” 9News said on its website. Unfortunately, DIRECTV and AT&T U-Verse have not reached an agreement with TEGNA to keep our stations on the air.
