During election season, many Republican candidates for state offices said they were in favor of increasing Florida's unemployment benefits. Now their Legislative leaders are cooling to that proposition. The COVID-19 pandemic and the state's woeful unemployment system has victimized far too many Floridians and CARES Act supplements will soon expire.
