ATHENS, Ohio — An Athens County judge has reversed his judgment granting two women the first same-sex divorce in county history. Common Pleas Court Judge George McCarthy ruled on Thursday that “it was not apparent” to him that the parties involved in the case were of the same gender when he approved a magistrate’s decision in November granting the divorce.
