Local Company Promotes Recycling Initiatives

When it comes to sensitive documents, perhaps no entity in the city has more than the Brownsville Police Department. Although much of the department’s paperwork is available to the public, the sheer volume of documents the police department keeps on hand can make recycling it a costly chore. That’s why the police department on Tuesday took advantage of a special Earth Day offer at Brownsville Scrap Paper. The recycling company offered free shredding for all clients throughout the day, inspiring the police department to bring a trailer laden with about 4,000 pounds of paper.
