Paxton Lynch fit the offense like a fish on a bicycle.
Let’s start there on why the Broncos enter Thursday’s NFL draft still searching for a franchise quarterback eight years after Peyton Manning retired.
There have been 13 starters since Super Bowl 50, tied for second most behind the Cleveland Browns. Only two have produced a winning record: Trevor Siemien (13-11) and Brett Rypien (2-1).
Lynch and Russell Wilson represent the franchise’s most dramatic failures, moves that shook the franchise to its roots because of the scramble for replacements and financial shrapnel left in their wake.
Make the Joker a Broncos QB — no joke
The next Broncos quarterback already resides in Colorado — Nikola Jokić. Jokić is a great passer, he always finds the open man. He understands passing lanes, and is a team player. He’s tall, so he can see over the line. Jokić makes his teammates better.
A spring tradition unlike any other: the Broncos’ unending search for a franchise quarterback. They are at 13 and counting since Peyton Manning retired following Super Bowl 50. Will this draft be different? A look at the unlucky 13, which largely explains why the Broncos have missed the playoffs for eight straight years and suffered seven consecutive losing seasons:

Youth soccer in Colorado is continuing to rise in the ranks nationally.
MLS NEXT announced eight expansion clubs Wednesday morning for its national youth leagues for the 2024-25 season from the U13 level all the way up to U19.
Among those are the U13 and U14 squads for the Colorado Rapids Youth Soccer Club, based in Aurora.
“At their core, each expansion club has their own unique commitment to player development through high-level leadership and an emphasis on the holistic growth of each player, coach and staff member,” MLS Executive Vice President Charles Altchek said in a news release.
Business at The Brown Palace is no longer blooming.
Bouquets, the flower shop that operated in the downtown hotel’s annex building, has moved out. Owner BJ Dyer said the hotel wanted him to pay $10,000 a month for his roughly 650-square-foot space.
“I would have to sell diamonds in there at a high profit,” Dyer said.
A new travel option for the 2024 summer season could bring the total number of people going through the gates of the Pikes Peak Highway to more than half a million people.
“We get so many people coming in and out of the office or at the gateway saying I am too scared to drive through those switchbacks above timberline, like that’s not for me, do you have a shuttle?” Pike Peak America’s Mountain Manager Skler Rorabaugh said.
This summer there is a new option for a $30 package deals that includes the entrance fee and a shuttle service up the mountain.
“We’re able to tell them that yeah, drive up to mile seven, which is a pretty easy, pretty comfortable drive for most people, you can get out, hop on the shuttle, and then take that shot all the way to the summit,” Rorabaugh said.
On May 1, the North Slope Recreation Area at the base of Pikes Peak opens for the season.
