URBANA — When Jason Norton was a boy, he mastered life-saving skills in pursuit of a Boy Scout merit badge.
Years later, Urbana police Sgt. Norton used the skills learned back then to save the life of a 3-year-old girl.
FROM STAFF REPORTSNORMAN — The Norman Ballet Company will hold auditions for area dancers and performers for its 2014 production of “The Oklahoma Nutcracker” on Sunday at the Kovich School of Ballet, 1312 S Berry Road.
This year marks the 13th anniversary of “The Oklahoma Nutcracker,” which has been performed for sold-out audiences since 2002 and has become a holiday tradition in Norman.
Guest artists from the Tulsa Ballet are scheduled to appear in the leading roles of the Sand Plum Fairy and her prince.

The three-day symposium featured 49 exhibitors from 14 states and three countries, and more than 40 presenters from aerospace, defense and government contracting businesses and organizations, according to Vicki Middleton, community relations and member services director for the Midwest City Chamber of Commerce.
