Mars Hill announced its breakup of its church on its website Friday. The big Mars Hill Bellevue congregation is seeking to keep going with a new preaching pastor and new affiliation. The disintegration of Mars Hill Church, after resignation of Lead Pastor Mark Driscoll, has focused attention on efforts by a major branch of the mega-church in in Bellevue to hold together and fashion a new identity at its downtown sanctuary in the old John Danz Theatre.
