The 2019 Nebula Awards were announced and presented last night in Los Angeles: the prize for best novel went to Mary Robinette Kowal (previously for The Calculating Stars. The award-winners from last night were: Best Novella: Aliette de Bodard, The Tea Master and the Detective (Subterranean) Best Novelette: Brooke Bolander, The Only Harmless Great Thing, (Tor.com) Best Short Story: Phenderson Djèlí Clark, The Secret Lives of the Nine Negro Teeth of George Washington, (Fireside 2/18) The Andre Norton Award for Outstanding Young Adult Science Fiction or Fantasy Book: Tomi Adeyemi, Children of Blood and Bone (Henry Holt; Macmillan) 35th Damon Knight Memorial Grand Master: William Gibson Game Writing: Charlie Brooker, Bandersnatch (Black Mirror) The Ray Bradbury Award for Outstanding Dramatic Presentation: Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (Screenplay by Phil Lord and Rodney Rothman) Kate Wilhelm Solstice Awards: Neil Clarke and Nisi Shawl Congratulations to all the winners for prizes richly deserved, and to all the nominees for presenting such a competitive and marvellous field of works!
