McHenry Mayor Wayne Jett has come out in support of four City Council hopefuls. Seats in the 2nd, 4th, 6th and 7th wards are up for re-election in April, and prospective candidates now can begin circulating petitions. The seats currently are filled by 2nd Ward Alderman Andrew Glab, 4th Ward Alderman Scott Curry, 6th Ward Alderman Patrick Devine and 7th Ward Alderwoman Geri Condon. Glab has represented the 2nd Ward for more than two decades, Curry was elected to his seat in 2015, and Devine was appointed to the seat in March 2017 after Robert Peterson’s resignation. Condon has been on the board since 2003. Condon previously said she does not plan to run for re-election, and Curry said Friday that he also does not hope to return. Devine and Glab were not available for comment Friday. But Jett said he would like to see some changes. “McHenry has so much potential that is right in front of us for the taking,” he said.
