Connecticut College was ready to enroll Nick Boulos after he graduated from high school in Portland, but before he headed to southern New England for his freshman year, Boulos put the brakes on and spent a year in France. He says the academic hiatus, known as a “gap year,” delivered more than he expected. “I saw, experienced and learned so much more than I could have ever dreamed to,” Boulos said.
