Movie Musings Feb. 8-14: Love, Rotten Love

Chris Hemsworth may be one of Hollywood’s leading men, but he recently revealed that he was denied a role in an upcoming Kevin Costner movie – because Costner took the role for himself. While Hemsworth has become known for his action hero persona, leading the Extraction franchise alongside his role as Marvel’s Thor, the actor is constantly looking for more diversity in his output.

The Denzel Washington and Spike Lee duo is back on set for the fifth time, working on an adaptation of Akira Kurosawa's classic film High and Low under the banner of A24.

As in A. I. Bezzerides, the screenwriter of "Kiss Me Deadly," whose work will be celebrated in upcoming American Cinematheque retrospective "Written by A. I."

The three-quel opens in theaters on December 20.
