Mta Files Legal Notice In Metro-north Fire

NEW YORK (AP) — The Metropolitan Transportation Authority has filed a notice of impending legal action against New York City over a fire that disrupted Metro-North train service for several days in May. Investigators determined that fuel spilled onto a hot generator at an East Harlem garden center that leased space under the tracks from the city's Economic Development Corporation. The MTA alleges the city showed "carelessness, recklessness and negligence" in allowing the storage of flammable materials there. A spokesman for the city's Law Department said the city would review the notice of claim.Read more on NewsOK.com
