Neil GarrisonIn no way, shape or form could you confuse central Oklahoma with the steamy, tropical jungle that is found alongside South America's Amazon River. The jungle is home to colorful parrots. Nevertheless, central Oklahoma once was inhabited by a lively and colorful parrot. This small bird was given the name Carolina Parakeet. Unfortunately, the Carolina Parakeet is now extinct. Oh how I'd love to have a flock of these rainbow-hued birds making a visit to my home's bird feeding station.Read more on NewsOK.com
