Navy, Epa Settle Environmental Allegations At Norfolk Base

NORFOLK, Va, (AP) — Federal regulators say the Navy has settled allegations of environmental violations at Naval Station Norfolk. The Environmental Protection Agency says the Navy will pay an $83,900 penalty. The EPA's allegations included violating emissions limits on an industrial device used for abrasive blasting and violating regulations regarding hazardous waste storage and disposal. The EPA said Wednesday in a news release that the Navy has addressed the issues.
