POUNDS By Gene Phelps Daily Journal JACKSON – Nettleton overcame a sluggish third quarter and rallied Wednesday night to defeat Prentiss 41-37 in the MHSAA Class 3A Girls State Tournament quarterfinals. The Tigers (20-9) advanced to the state semifinals against Northeast Mississippi foe Booneville, the defending state champion and a team that eliminated Nettleton in last year’s North state tournament. “The girls want them,” Nettleton coach Shelley Walters said.
