Although dated and way too long, my summer trash read was Nelson DeMille's "Gold Coast," a tale concerning Long Island's fabled North Shore, Gatsby-era mansions (or what's left of them), old moneyed society and how a Mafia don moves next door to an established family and stirs up a hot mess.
