New State School Boss Plans To Visit As Many Of State's 800 Districts As Possible

Dearborn schools Superintendent Brian Whiston, 53, who grew up in Waterford Township and graduated from Waterford Kettering High School, knows he faces great challenges when he steps into the office of Michigan's school superintendent in July.Whiston, who was Oakland Schools director of government relations and communication for a decade, recently was selected by the Michigan State Board of Education to replace state Superintendent Michael Flanagan.
