Four wide releases are vying for your box office dollars this weekend, but they are in the unenviable position of having to open a week before The Avengers. But hey, it's better to open the week before than a week after. In the romantic comedy The Five-Year Engagement, Jason Segel and Emily Blunt star as an engaged couple who puts off saying I do for a couple of years. The movie will mine their obstructions in getting to the altar for laughs until the very last frame.

Edgar Allen Poe isn't for English majors anymore. We've been psyched about John Cusack's psychological thriller since his spot-on Poe portrait but now, in the newly released trailer, we're able to see the mysterious author come to life."The Raven," from director James McTeigue ("V For Vendetta), tells the Poe's final days, spent chasing a killer whose methods originate in his dark short stories and books.

He may be the posterboy for 1980s lovey dovey comedies, but John Cusack also does tall, dark and stormy quite well. It's fitting then that he'll star as horror author Edgar Allen Poe in James McTeigue's upcoming murder mystery/Poe not-biopic "The Raven." News of the casting comes from Cusack himself, via his Twitter feed.
