Donnie Yen showing off his Wing Chun in "Ip Man 3"

Over at MoviesWithButter.com, I’ve written two articles regarding “Ip Man 3,” the film that’s holding its own in Asian territories against “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

If you’re not familiar with Asian cinema,”Ip Man” one of the most popular franchises in that area of the world. It stars Donnie Yen, arguably the top Asian action star in the last decade.

MWB Repost: Beautiful "Man from U.N.C.L.E." Lacks Charisma

Alicia Vikander, Armie Hammer, and Henry Cavill in "The Man from U.N.C.L.E."

Here's my review of Guy Ritchie's latest film "The Man from U.N.C.L.E.":

I went into “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.” expecting to be thrilled, entertained, and charmed by beautiful people chasing each other around the globe in a game of cat-and-mouse like the recent “Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation” -- except with bland male leads (Henry Cavill, Armie Hammer). At least, that’s what I got from the trailer.

Sylvester Stallone

Never one to abandon a franchise until he's slurped every molecule from its marrow, Sylvester Stallone is enthusiastically preparing for the inevitable Expendables 3 -- and because social media is the poorly spelled gift that keeps on giving when it comes to celebrity pronouncements, we have a few new tidbits about the next sequel, courtesy of Sly himself.

Gina Carano Tapped to Lead Female 'Expendables'

Gina Carano

Well, you pretty much knew this was coming: Producer Adi Shankar has announced that the upcoming all-female Expendables project will star none other than Gina Carano. Carano, the MMA star who proved she could kick cinematic ass in Steven Soderbergh's Haywire, is Hollywood's most natural fit for the film -- something Shankar acknowledged when he said filming without her would be "like making Twix without caramel or Jamba Juice without jamba."

Back in June, Sigourney Weaver revealed that the three Avatar sequels are going to be shooting back-to-back-to-back, but it looks like that's no longer the case. Speaking with the Courier Post (via Comingsoon), producer Jon Landau said “[w]e doing two back-to-back, but not a third.”

Will Jet Li Get Sliced in Two by Van Damme's Split in "Expendables 2?"

Jet Li in "The Expendables 2"

In the official synopsis from Lionsgate for “The Expendables 2,” a member of the team will die horribly during one of their missions and forces the remaining members to avenge his death. Most people, including me, are guessing that it’s Jet Li’s character Yin Yang. His role in the second film is small. He’s barely seen in the trailer, and he only shot for two weeks while the rest of the crew were in China. Li said it was because of a scheduling conflict.
