HTC, the Taiwan-based manufacturer of Google's Nexus One cellphone, says it plans to mount an aggressive defense against a patent infringement lawsuit brought by Apple.

Apple is suing HTC, the maker of several Google-based smart phones, claiming patent infringement on the iPhone's user interface and hardware.

So why did Google wait all this time to implement multi-touch when its devices have been capable of it since the G1? With Apple and Google now fighting, all bets are apparently off.

Apple and Microsoft are reportedly in talks to make Microsoft's Bing the default search engine on the iPhone. So long Google!

Surprise. Apple has agreed to purchase mobile advertising startup Quattro Wireless for $275 million, All Things Digital reported Monday. That Quattro would be targeted after Google bought rival mobile ad seller AdMob for $750 million by Google last year is no surprise.
