There’s a rather interesting article over on Gamasutra today which points out the inescapable fact that for all its record setting at launch, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will likely never catch Call of Duty: Black Ops in lifetime sales. With only a few months until Black Ops 2, Modern Warfare 3 is still 2.7M copies behind the original game, a gap it will likely not close as both continue to sell copies.

It beat competition for the top prize from the likes of LA Noire, Call of Duty: Black Ops and Gran Turismo 5. As if the gun-toting action in Call of Duty: Black Ops wasn t expected to feel real enough in high definition, Activision Blizzard Inc. announced Tuesday that the latest entry in its successful first-person-shooter video game franchise would be released in 3-D.
