Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

There’s a rather interesting article over on Gamasutra today which points out the inescapable fact that for all its record setting at launch, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will likely never catch Call of Duty: Black Ops in lifetime sales. With only a few months until Black Ops 2, Modern Warfare 3 is still 2.7M copies behind the original game, a gap it will likely not close as both continue to sell copies.

"Call of Duty" has $400 million in sales on day 1

Activision Blizzard's "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3" video game racked up more than $400 million in sales on its first day in stores in the United States and the United Kingdom. Activision said in a statement on Friday its biggest holiday title had sold 6.5 million units, which breaks last year's record of 5.6 million units, or $360 million in sales.
