Airlines raise 2013 profit outlook

The International Air Transport Association credits "a backdrop of improved optimism for global economic prospects" for raising expectations above its previous forecast of $8.4 billion in profits for this year.

Airlines Seen Losing $4.7 Billion

The International Air Transport Association said it expected airlines to make a $4.7 billion loss in 2009, almost double the $2.5 billion loss it had originally forecast.
