BFI's Movie-Con III is in full effect in London right now and ComingSoon.net's man abroad Ben Mortimer has learned that actor Jason Flemyng, last seen playing Calibos in Louis Letterier's Clash of the Titans and in a small role in Matthew Vaughn's Kick-Ass , will be reteaming with Vaughn for a role in X-Men: First Class . That role will be Azazel, who was described as a "teleporter" during Flemyng's presentation, but who is in fact none other than Nightcrawler's father!

Paramount and DreamWorks Animation had a kick-ass weekend of their own at the domestic B.O., with 3D toon "How to Train Your Dragon" posting an estimated $20 million at 3,825 locations, enough to claim the top spot in its fourth frame. With help from higher 3D ticket prices, the toon holdover edged out Lionsgate's superhero actioner "Kick-Ass," which debuted with $19.8 million at 3,065 engagements.

Matthew Vaughn's comic actioner "Kick-Ass" topped the Friday boxoffice with an estimated $7.6 million haul, including $1 million from Thursday night performances.

This week at the movies, we've got hapless heroes (Kick-Ass, starring Aaron Johnson and Nicolas Cage), and madcap mourners (Death at a Funeral, starring Chris Rock and Tracy Morgan). What do the critics have to say? Given the recent glut of superheroes on the big screen, it was inevitable that we'd get a film that both relishes and satirizes the genre (sorry, Superhero Movie, you don't count). IGN has posted a new video interview segment in which Mark Millar ( Kick-Ass , Wanted ) talked more about his new secret superhero movie. Millar says he will direct the independently-financed film this summer in Scotland.
