Fred Willard loses second job after lewd conduct bust

Fred Willard's improv series is a wipeout with ABC. The network is pulling the last two original episodes of "Trust Us With Your Life," a move that comes two weeks after Willard's lewd conduct arrest at an adult movie theater. Reruns of ABC's "Wipeout" will replace the Tuesday show hosted by Willard. The 72-year-old actor already had lost his job as narrator of a new PBS series, "Market Warriors."

 

PBS video mashup honors 'Joy of Painting' host

On the heels of PBS' hit Mister Rogers video mashup, a second public TV favorite is getting the star treatment. PBS said Thursday it has posted a video remix with clips from "The Joy of Painting" instructional series, featuring the late Bob Ross.

Breitbart.com editors Ben Shapiro and Joel Pollak said Wednesday on Sean Hannity’s radio show that they would release footage that proved President Barack Obama had “radical intellectual founders,” which were covered up by the mainstream media. But before Breitbart.com released the footage, PBS Frontline published the full unedited video themselves, noting that they had previously included the footage in their election special The Choice 2008. “There’s nothing new about the clip or Obama’s role in the controversy at Harvard Law School,” PBS said. “It’s been online at our site and on YouTube since [2008].”

Film critic Roger Ebert is telling his readers that he may have to cancel his television show "Ebert Presents: At the Movies" unless someone steps up and helps him and his wife pay for it.

Senh: Oh no. TV needs more shows like "Ebert Presents At The Movies." It's that or fluff like "Entertainment Tonight" and "Extra." I hope Ebert finds funding for it. I've always wondered why there are no sponsors for the show, but thought that maybe it's because contributions from viewers through PBS was enough to pay for it. I didn't know that Ebert have been financing the whole thing personally.

Jack Black, Conan O'Brien and Larry King will honor Will Ferrell with the nation's top humor prize, along with Maya Rudolph and Molly Shannon from his "Saturday Night Live" days. On Wednesday, the Kennedy Center in Washington announced a lineup of star comedians who will perform in Ferrell's honor for the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. They'll salute him Oct. 23 in a performance taped for broadcast Oct. 31 on PBS stations nationwide.
