Nearly 6,400 Oklahoma customers remain without power

At 8 a.m. today, nearly 6,400 customers of the Oklahoma Association of Electric Cooperatives remain without power that was cause by last week's winter storm, said Michelann Ooten, spokeswoman for the state Department of Emergency Management.
Lake Region Electric Cooperative reported 250 outages. Ozarks Electric Cooperative reported just more than 6,100 outages.

Kentucky groans under layer of ice

More than half a million Kentuckians remained without power Saturday after a devastating ice storm hit the state earlier this week, Gov. Steve Beshear said. Ice-laden power lines and tree branches still drooped heavily Saturday, and temperatures remained below freezing.
