Bringing Hollywood's two biggest independent film studios and the blockbuster young adult franchises "Twilight" and "The Hunger Games" into one powerful entity, Lions Gate Entertainment has agreed to acquire Summit Entertainment for $412.5 million in cash and stock.

Lions Gate Entertainment is close to an agreement to acquire Summit Entertainment, the studio behind the "Twilight" movies, in a deal expected to close as early as this week, according to people familiar with the matter.

The Breaking Dawn Director has yet to be officially announced, however Summit Entertainment has now confirmed that they are currently in negotiations with 'Dreamgirls' director Bill Condon . Condon won an Academy Award in 1999 for 'Gods and Monsters' in the Best Writing catagory.

 

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse Trailer is Coming in March

Summit Entertainment announced today that the trailer for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse will hit theaters with the the studio's own Remember Me , which also stars Robert Pattinson, on March 12th. The trailer is expected to be released online earlier that week.
