Charles Lutwidge Dodgson ( / ˈlʌtwɪdʒ ˈdɒdʒsən / LUT-wij DOJ-sən; 27 January 1832 – 14 January 1898), better known by his pen name Lewis Carroll, was an English author, poet, mathematician and photographer.
