Remsen, NY: On The Western Border Of The Adirondacks

Remsen is a town in Oneida County, New York, United States. The population was 1,929 at the 2010 census. The town is named after Henry Remsen, an early settler. The Town of Remsen contains a village also named Remsen. The town is north of the city of Utica.

Remsen Village is a small neighborhood located in Brooklyn, New York. Originally part of the Dutch colony of New Netherland, the land eventually became a farming community before being developed into a residential area. Remsen Village was named after the influential Remsen family who owned the land in the late 1800s.
