Do not speak ill of the dead. That’s an honorable admonition. But what of the truth? When a person dies, should he be remembered accurately? That question is acutely posed by the demise of Henry Kissinger. The veteran diplomat passed away on Wednesday at the age of 100, leaving behind a long legacy that includes such highs as the opening to China, as well as foul deeds that resulted in mayhem and death—thousands and thousands of deaths.
Henry Kissinger, the former Secretary of State known for his realist approach to foreign policy during the Nixon and Ford administrations, has died. He was 100.
News of his death was confirmed by a statement from his consulting firm.
Kissinger was a highly influential but polarizing figure. His impact extended beyond his tenure as national security adviser from 1969 to 1975 and overlapping/concurrent service as Secretary of State from 1973 to 1977, for decades spanning from the Vietnam War to the aftermath of 9/11.
Space Karen Elon Musk threw a giant fit at the New York Times Dealbook Summit on Wednesday. This entire clip is bonkerstown, population 2 (Elon and Linda X, who I am convinced is being held hostage).
First, the chyron. It reads, I kid you not: "Musk: Antisemitism was not my intention." Starting off strong out of the gate.
Second, we move to Elon saying, smugly "I hope they stop.
I knew when Fox was forced to fire Tucker Carlson that he would be replaced with Jesse Watters. Jesse is the only completely reliable source of vile they had on deck.
And here he is spewing more stupid.
JESSE WATTERS (HOST): The only time Democrats talk about school violence is if there is a deadly mass shooting.
So Elon Musk returned from the Middle East to inspect the devastation in Israel from the Hamas attack, and immediately pivoted to Pizzagate, as one does:
Elon Musk voiced support Tuesday for Pizzagate, the long-debunked conspiracy theory that led a man to fire a rifle inside a Washington, D. C., restaurant in 2016.
[…] Musk’s post was the latest in what has become a string of tweets in which Musk boosted debunked theories and comes just one day after he visited Israel to try to tamp down anger over an explosion of antisemitism on X that has caused a growing number of advertisers to flee.
Come for the antisemitism, stay for the conspiracy theories.
